Skin Cancer On The Rise

Fitness Tip – Skin Cancer on The Rise
Melanoma rates are on the rise among young adults, according to the Mayo Clinic (June 2012).

While you need the enriching nutrients of sunlight, especially
Vitamin D, you need to protect yourself from overexposure to UV
rays, including those from tanning beds.

Use a sunblock with a minimum 15 SPF, and use 30 SPF for
sensitive skin.

Also, yearly check ups at a skin cancer clinic are advised if you have even moderate exposure to the sun on a regular basis.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer and, with early detection, can be cured. Regular self checks also prove to be useful.

If you cannot get the Vitamin D from the sun, another good source is mushrooms.
